The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized support and maintenance for the equipment and instrumentation in the Science Center.This position also supports Science Center and CINSAM faculty and staff use of administrative and instructional technology by analyzing needs;researching, evaluating, and developing or recommending appropriate technologies to meet those needs; and providing training, support, and documentation. Collaborates with faculty, students, departmental support staff, and IT staff to provide access to and information about the appropriate technology tools. Provides high level support for appropriate technology tools.
• Work alongside departmental support staff to maintain and repair the scientific equipment and instrumentation in the Science Center.
• Analyze, evaluate, and recommend research and instructional technologies for lab and classroom use.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and IT groups to provide user support for IT.
Bachelor’s degree in lab science with experience with scientific instrumentation and equipment.
Additional study or training in computer science or computer information technology is desirable.
This person must be proficient with instrumentation, lab equipment, and data acquisition equipment.They must have moderate IT experience (maintenance and troubleshooting) with both PC and Mac.
