Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a Licensed Nurse to be responsible for providing an array of nursing care services, related functions, andmedical resources for our Adult Addictions facility located in Richmond, Indiana.
This position will cover 7pm - 7:30am with every other weekend and holiday.
Responds to requests from patients concerning the effectiveness of medications, side-effects, special precautions or problems with medication and consults with medical staff as appropriate to provide patients direction on changes/modifications to the prescribed medications regimen;
Phone in prescriptions orders to pharmacies as directed by medical staff;
Obtain medical histories and do physical assessments as directed by medical staff. Including B/P, WS, Wt., and AIMS testing. Provide health screening as needed to direct patients to needed medical care;
Administer injectable medications as ordered by medical staff;
Provide as needed, educational groups, inservices and one-on-one teaching to patients and employees concerning psychotropic medications, diagnosis and health related issues;
Participate in reviews and modifications of patients’ services during treatment planning;
Supervise medications using pre-packaged medication delivery system or weekly pill-minders as determined by the psychiatrist.
Assist with use of Patient Assistance Programs available through pharmaceutical companies. Utilize medication samples as prescribed and ordered by the psychiatrist.
Assist with maintenance of employee health records, providing annual TB testing and Hepatitis B Vaccine.Maintain a treatment plan and routine supervision of meds. only patients providing liaison between patient and psychiatrist;
Provide TOVA testing for ADHD assessment; and Assist psychiatrist with admissions to in-patient unit at BMH.
Maintain first aid kits.
To perform health and safety checks throughout Meridian Services, including group homes.
To keep accurate records on medication errors.
To perform and document all infection control functions, according to JCAHO.
Complete required clinical documents for review/approval by a member of the medical staff, (e.g., treatment plan reviews/updates, etc.); and Completes other documentation to ensure accurate and timely information for client and third-party billing, (e.g., prior approval, utilization review, etc.).
Education: Successful completion of an Accredited Nursing Program.
Certification/Licensure: LPN or RN (State of IN)and drivers license.
Experience:At least one yearas nurse required;experience in the mental health field preferred.
Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screen required.
