A post-doctoral position is available in the area of cryo-EM software development. Research areas include structural biology, molecular modeling, image analysis, 3-D reconstruction, parallelization and python programming. The position is 2 years (with possible 3rd year extension) with competitive starting salary plus benefits ($74,000- $88,000 USD, depending on experience).

LANL has an intellectually diverse environment and demands creative, innovative and pioneering solutions. LANL is a leader in high performance computing and has a history of leadership in this area, dating back to one of the first supercomputers ever built. The Theoretical Division was first led by Hans Bethe and was home to Richard Feynman for many years. As a national laboratory, high priority is placed in interdisciplinary studies. Facilities include a large number of supercomputers, four divisions (~300 people each) devoted to computation, and a large computing allocation for this project. We are located in the mountains of northern New Mexico, near Santa Fe, with close access to skiing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking.
